Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today issued the following message on the 43rd anniversary of the Barzani Genocide:
Today is the 43rd anniversary of the genocide of thousands of innocent Barzanis, one of the most heinous crimes committed by the former Iraqi regime.
The people of Kurdistan will never forget these atrocities; we remember the sacrifices made in pursuit of our legitimate rights. We will never give up our national achievements, and we will continue to defend them in every way.
Once again, we call on the federal government to fulfill its constitutional duty and moral responsibility to compensate the families of the victims of the acts of genocide, the Anfal campaign, and the families of every victim of the brutal former Iraqi regime.
I salute all the martyrs and victims of genocide in Kurdistan.
