Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani spoke by telephone today with U.S. Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright.
During the call, they discussed developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq regarding energy and the KRG’s decision to allow oil exports through the Kurdistan Region’s pipeline to help ease Iraq’s economic stability and contribute to the global energy market.
The Prime Minister underlined the need for continued coordination and support to protect Kurdistan’s energy infrastructure, lift the trade embargo imposed on the Kurdistan Region, and stop terrorist attacks on oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region in order to increase production and exports.
Prime Minister Barzani and Secretary Wright also discussed ways to promote stability in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider region.
