Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, today in Baghdad, met with Haibat Al-Halbousi, Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives.
They emphasized the role of the Council of Representatives as an important legislative institution in serving all components and addressing national issues.
They also agreed on the importance of resolving the outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government on the basis of the Constitution. With respect to this, they stressed the importance of preparing and approving a number of national laws that safeguard the rights of all components on the basis of the federal system and the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region.
